Guided Tour:

In the historic chain and jewelry factory Jakob Bengel you will be guided through the times of mechanical production (between 1870 and 1990). Besides the production processes there is an impressive presentation of the economic development, the social structures and the working conditions of that period.

In the machine room you will find 40 chain machines - most of which were built by the own toolmakers. The most ancient ones are over 100 years old. With these well preserved and regularly serviced machines chains are still produced to this day.

During the tour the chain machines as well as other machines like die cutters, drawing benches, friction presses will be activated and explained. The running machines allow for a comprehensive understanding of the operational sequences and work methods of the last century.

The tour through the factory with presentation can only be done with a guide and in small groups with up to 15 people. A parallel tour of 2 groups is possible.

The guided tour on weekends can only be made by previous appointment by phone.

Groups with 5 persons or more 4,50 Euro per person (all inclusive)
