The support association created in November 2006 is dedicated to maintain this exceptional cultural heritage and effectively configure it. For coming generations there should be the possibility to draw upon a wide variety of internationally successfull jewelry producing industry of Idar-Oberstein.

In cooperation with the city of Idar-Oberstein and the University of applied sciences Trier, degree program Gem and Jewelry design, thanks to the Jakob Bengel Foundation many projects around the theme of contemporary jewelry design as well as jewelry and design exhibitions have  beeen  realized.
